The Legal Aid Society of Hawai‘i provides help to individuals and families who cannot afford to hire a private attorney for their civil legal needs. Legal Aid primarily assists in the areas of family law, housing law, consumer law, and public benefits law.

Crime Victim Compensation Commission
The Commission provides compensation to victims of violent crimes for their crime-related injuries and losses, and to "Good Samaritans" for injuries or property damage suffered in the prevention of a crime or apprehension of a criminal.
